My son is a 7th grader, an average player in his second year of trombone. I'm a piano player who also plays trombone so I'm in a pretty good position to review this product.I bought this about a month ago and am very pleased. It comes with the book of trombone parts as well as a CD that contains a pdf of piano accompaniments, and mp3s of (1) piano only, and (2) piano and trombone.
The trombone parts are largely in the Bb to Bb octave but sometimes go higher. The rhythms are not crazy-hard but it's not just a bunch of quarter notes either. There are plenty of articulations and dynamic markings to add depth to the solos.
We bought this to add some variety and fun to my son's practice time and so we could play together once in a while. He's been working on four or five of the songs (with piano mp3) and tonight I printed off a few piano parts and we worked on them together for the first time. Great fun! The piano parts are also nicely done, not too hard but nicely complementary to the solos.
Really pleased with this purchase. I think we'll get use out of it for a couple of years.
